IELTS - The International English Language Testing System

This is an exam which has no pass or fail just a score from 1 - 9.

There are 4 parts: listening speaking, reading and writing.

Universities often ask for an IELTS test as an entry requirement.

Below is a rough guide to levels to entry requirements. Remember this is just a guide and Universities and other organisations may have different entry requirements.

• University Foundation courses IELTS 5.0 - 5.5 average score
  
  
• University Undergraduate courses IELTS 6.0 - 6.5 average score (upper intermediate) it can be 7.0 - 7.5 if there is a lot of reading
  
  
• University postgraduate courses IELTS 6.5 - 7.5 average score (strong upper intermediate/advanced)
  
  
• NHS doctor / Nurse IELTS 7.0 (Strong Advanced)
  
  
• We run IELTS courses throughout the year
  
  
• The IELTS course is 11 weeks
  
  
• The IELTS preparation course costs £200 + £100 exam fee
